A process built for (busy) executives

1. Start with a conversation

Most people who feel the urge to write a book don’t know what to write about. 

 

We'll begin with a simple conversation, where I’ll learn about your goals, career story, and business.

 

From this conversation, I'll work up a rough book outline. If you like the direction, we move to the next phase.

2. Get the details

I’ll begin my research. This has three parts:

 

First, I’ll read and listen to anything I can find about you online. 

 

Second, you and I will meet regularly (recommend weekly) for interviews. 

 

Third, I’ll interview other experts and people relevant to the story or topic.

3. Write the book

I’ll combine our outline with my research and begin writing a book in your voice.

 

I’ll deliver finished chapters or sections to you (or your team) for feedback, so that the writing process is collaborative from start to finish.

(Optional) Pitch agents 

If you don’t already have agent representation, and you don’t plan to self-publish your book, then I can help with drafting agent pitches.

 

Since most nonfiction books are sold before the book is completed, this will happen alongside the writing stage.
